What is flu?
Flu (influenza) is
a severe respiratory
illness which assaults Florida between October and March. Well-known for
its fever, body-aches and cough, the flu virus does not respond to
antibiotics. Everyone over the age of six months can ward-off this
serious disease with a simple flu shot at the beginning of each flu
season.
Where can I get a flu shot?
Beginning the last week of September, daily flu shot
clinic locations are available by dialing Sarasota County Health
Department's flu shot information
line at 941-861-2800 (or 861-1833, TDD for the hearing impaired).
