Criminal Justice Policy Coordination

Sarasota County employs a Criminal Justice Policy Coordinator, who works in the same building as the Sarasota County Health Department.  This Coordinator facilitates a written criminal justice policy for the County to ensure our criminal justice system is as efficient and effective as possible.

Indigent Hospital Cases

Sarasota County receives indigent hospital referral cases from participating county hospitals via a special state ordinance.  All approved payments made by the county on behalf of qualified residents are subject to repayment.

Disposition of Unclaimed Bodies

Sarasota County per Florida Statute is legally responsible to cremate or, in special situations, arrange for the interment of all unclaimed bodies referred to Department of Health & Human Services.

For more information on indigent services, please contact William Marshall at bmarshal@scgov.net .

Sarasota Partnership for Children's Mental Health

This Partnership works to build a comprehensive system of care providing mental health and related services to children 0 - 8 years old and their families.  It does this by coordinating existing County agencies in a service network.  Education and prevention efforts are also part of its mission.
