Dependency Indemnity Compensation (DIC)
Veterans Affairs offers help with
Dependency Indemnity Compensation, or DIC. DIC is payable
regardless of income to surviving spouses and dependent children of
veterans who die from service-related deaths. The benefit is also
payable if the veteran was 100% disabled for 10 or more years and the
service-related disability contributed to the cause of the veteran's
death.
Pension Claims
Veterans Affairs processes pension benefit
claims. Pension benefits are payable to wartime veterans unable to
work because of a qualifying disability which need not be
service-connected. Pension is available to veterans, surviving
spouses, and children, if the veteran has qualifying service and there
is financial need. The benefits are based on a claimant's income
and various other criteria. To find out if you qualify for a
pension benefit, please call. |
