WIC
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a
federal supplemental nutrition program for pregnant or postpartum women,
breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age five who are at or
below 185% of the federal poverty guidelines. Qualified applicants
receive: nutrition counseling and a redeemable check for food, which may
include cereal, eggs, fruit juice, milk, cheese, dried beans, peanut
butter, carrots and / or tuna and in some cases, infant formula.
